How to Get Great Wheel Lists with the AI Generator
Updated 2026-10-03
Typing a long list by hand is the slowest part of using a wheel. The AI tab in Spin Master drafts a list for you from a short description. A little care with the prompt makes the difference between a list you can use at once and one you have to rewrite.
How it works
Open the AI tab in the sidebar, describe your topic and click Generate List. The list replaces the entries on your wheel, and you can edit it in the List tab like any other list. If your description includes a number, such as 12 board games, the generator aims for that many entries. Without a number it makes ten, and a single request is capped at thirty.
Write prompts that work
- Be specific: board games for four players works better than games
- Add a number to control the length: 8 icebreaker questions
- Name the audience: science vocabulary for 10-year-olds
- Ask for short items. The wheel shows only the first characters of long text
- Request a theme, such as healthy snacks or rainy day activities
Example prompts
- Classroom: 10 vocabulary words about the solar system
- Party: 12 charades ideas for children
- Meetings: 8 icebreaker questions for a remote team
- Home: 10 quick dinner ideas
- Fitness: 8 bodyweight exercises
- Decisions: 6 weekend activity ideas near a city
Check before you spin
Generated lists can contain duplicates, odd choices or the occasional factual mistake. Read the list and fix anything wrong before you use it, especially for lessons or competitions. If the first result is not what you wanted, change the prompt rather than keep generating the same request.
Privacy
The text you type into the AI tab is sent through our server to an AI service (Cloudflare Workers AI, or Groq as a backup) to produce the list. We do not store it ourselves, but those providers process it under their own privacy policies. Please do not enter personal information.
