Spin Together: A Guide to Meeting Rooms and Pass-On Mode

Updated 2026-10-03

A Meeting Room lets several people watch the same wheel on their own devices. Whether you are running a class activity over video, a team meeting or a game night with friends in different cities, everyone sees the same names, the same spin and the same winner at the same time.

Create a room

  1. Click the Room button in the top bar.
  2. Choose Create Room, enter your name and click Create Room.
  3. A window shows your six-character room code, a QR code and an invite link.
  4. Share the link or code, or use the WhatsApp, email or share buttons, then close the window with the cross at the top.

Join a room

  1. Open the invite link, or click Room and choose Join Room.
  2. Enter your name and, if you did not use a link, the six-character room code.
  3. You appear on the host's wheel automatically.

How it works

  • Everyone in the room is on the wheel. The example names that come with the app are left out, and your own list returns when you leave the room.
  • The host controls the wheel: the host chooses the mode, spins, and decides whether winners are removed.
  • Everyone sees the host's spin and the same winner, and the Results list fills in for everyone.
  • The host can remove a winner from the wheel and add removed names back at any time.

Pass-On Mode

Pass-On Mode shares the spinning around. The host turns it on, starts the first spin, and from then on the winner of each spin performs the next one. A countdown of ten seconds shows the person whose turn it is how long they have. If they do not spin in time, the turn moves to the next person in the room.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • If joining says Room not found, check the six characters of the code.
  • Sound plays on each device separately, so everyone can set their own volume in Audio settings.
  • Leave a room with the Leave Room button in the room window. Using your browser's Back button also leaves the room.
  • If the host closes their browser tab, nobody can spin until the host returns, so choose a reliable host.

Your privacy in a room

Rooms use Google Firebase. Each browser gets a random anonymous ID, with no email address or password, and the names, room code and spin results are stored so everyone sees the same wheel. Please do not enter sensitive personal information. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.
